Built on experience. Driven by better grain systems.
Graintek is Scotland’s first dedicated grain dryer company, designing, manufacturing, installing and supporting grain drying, handling and automation systems for farms, estates and commercial operators across the UK and Europe.

Grain drying, handling and automation expertise under one roof
Graintek was created to bring better thinking to grain drying and handling systems. From our head office in Huntly and our base in Alconbury, we support customers with complete systems, individual equipment, servicing, repairs, installation, fabrication and control system development.
The strength of the business comes from how much we do in-house. By combining design, manufacture, installation, servicing and automation within one joined-up team, we can keep better control over quality, communication and long-term support.
For customers, that means practical advice, well-built equipment and systems designed around how the site needs to operate in the real world.
Practical knowledge across every part of the business
Behind Graintek is a skilled team with experience across agricultural engineering, fabrication, control systems, software, servicing, project management, CNC machinery, installation and customer support.

From electrical control systems to award-winning grain equipment
Graintek’s story begins before the company itself was formed.
In 1983, Kenneth Addison established Addison Electrical Ltd, initially carrying out domestic and general electrical work. As the company grew, it moved into bespoke control and automation systems, with a particular focus on agricultural and commercial sectors.
That control system experience later opened the door to the grain industry. During a major project at Hamlyns of Scotland in 1995, Kenneth met John Fyfe, then Sales Manager for Law Denis. This relationship led to Addison Electrical designing, manufacturing and commissioning bespoke control systems for Law Denis grain dryers and handling equipment until the company’s closure in 2008.
Through this period, Kenneth also worked closely with Philip Crow, now Graintek’s Technical Director. With Kenneth’s control and automation expertise, Philip’s technical agricultural knowledge and John Fyfe’s deep understanding of grain dryers and handling equipment, Graintek was formed in 2009.
Since then, the company has grown from grain dryers and handling equipment into a broader engineering business offering drying systems, stirrer systems, servicing, maintenance, installation, parts, fabrication and control automation.

We do not innovate for the sake of it. We look at how grain systems are used in the real world, then improve the parts that affect reliability, efficiency, control and day-to-day operation. That mindset runs through everything Graintek builds, from award-winning dryers and stirrer systems to in-house PLC controls and bespoke engineering.
